2020 & 2021 Cliff Notes
Hey everyone,
It’s the cobwebs for me.
Damn, it’s been sooo friggin long since I’ve updated this site and I figured now is a good a time as any to make that happen. Why now? Eh, y’know how ADHD brains work, plus I’m avoiding working on my pilot notes. Not pilot notes like a plane, but TV pilot notes.
Yep, that means I really need to update my bio as I’m now a TELEVISION WRITER!!! Cool, right? I started writing pilots back in summer of 2020, as I needed a better way to supplement my income since I could no longer travel for work due to covid and my plethora of disabilities. Then summer of 2021, I was hired by [redacted] to work on an animation series — it was THEE BEST TIME EVER!!!!!! Being in a room full of Black writers of different ages, backgrounds was just so damn cool. I’ll never forget my time nor my first writers room.
After that, things started to change drastically, I [redacted] a [redacted], I’m also [redacting] a [redacted] and I’m a [redacted] for [redacted]. Yeah, it’s a LOT of redactions. Those NDA’s are so real and I’m pretty sure I’ve spotted a black van circling my house, waiting to pounce on me when I spill too much tea instead of [redacting].
I have amazing new managers — Geoff Silverman and Audrey Knox of The Cartel and these two human beings have believed in me like no other representation I’ve had in the past. I’ve been on so many meetings, met so many amazing people, and now I’m working on a few projects that will hopefully see the light of day. It’s been a wild ride! I’ve met with some of the top companies, networks and streamers and it’s still so damn surreal.
That’s pretty much it from the TV side, but the COMICS side???

I don’t even know where to begin. Well, obviously if you follow me on Twitter, IG, Facebook (mizteefranklin) then you know what’s been happening, but for the newbies, lemme catch y’all up.
Harley Quinn Eat Bang Kill Tour just so happens to have my last name on the cover — Franklin. That’s right! I wrote the Harley Quinn animated series tie-in comic. If you haven’t watched the show on HBO Max yet, what are you doing? I love this show and I really had the time of my life writing this comic.
Not only did I get to write Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy for a six issue arc, I got to write my FAVORITE COMIC CHARACTER OF ALL TIME!!!!

I’ve been having the absolute best time with DC Comics and I hope that I can continue to knock out more comics for them!
That’s “pretty much” all the decent things that’s happened in my career — tons of BS I’m not beat to drudge up again. I’m SO thrilled with the direction my career has taken me. Stay tuned for what’s been happening in 2022, we’re only four months in, so I’m pretty sure I won’t disappear for another three years with an update.
But with me…anything’s possible. Thank you everyone for your support over the years. Now I need to go update my bio and get to working on these pilot notes I’ve been dreading.
